Baseball minutia I was just reading an article about how Curt Schilling is a gamer, when I discovered a baseball measurement I'd never heard of: the Mendoza Line. According to the story, George Brett made an offhand comment to a reporter that he had been hitting as poorly as Mario Mendoza, a career .200 hitter. From then on, .200 has been called the Mendoza Line.
